The Dunes Wapiti River Valley
The Wapiti River Valley is commonly referred to as the Dunes by local residents. This is an ecologically sensitive area on the North and South sides of the Wapiti River consisting of sandy forested areas with alternating grassy muskeg areas.
The river valley is used by many including off-road vehicles, horse trails, walking trails, boaters, residential, industrial, and more. The Wapiti Corridor Planning Society goal is to create a mulit-use plan for this location.  For more information on the Wapiti Corridor visit www.wapiticorridor.ca.
From the intersection of 68th Ave and Resources Road, travel 5.3km along Resources Road, turn east across from The Dunes Gulf Course entrance. Travel 250m and turn right to cross the train tracks, then another 50m into the parking lot. This location provides access at the south-west tip of the Dunes.
This is a trail network of intertwining, crisscrossing well traveled trails. Due to the large number of interwoven trails, not all trails may be mapped. Be cautious in this mass complex network of trails it is likely you will run into other recreational users on the trails.
